Program Description

Art and design; fashion and function; influence and power; romance and passion; there are as many adjectives to describe Paris, France as there are Parisians. Bursting with art, drenched in culture, ripe with sophistication, the “City of Lights” bedazzles all who would gaze upon her. No other city has inspired so many to the point of obsession.

Through this intensive French language and culture course, you can escape the "ennui," or feeling of boredom, of an on-campus course and dive head-first into Paris. Explore world-renowned museums and iconic landmarks. Lose yourself in conversation at a quaint café or at the dinner table with a Parisian family. Be influenced by the city that has inspired artists like Monet, emperors like Napoleon, architects like Eiffel, innovators like Pasteur and entrepreneurs like Chanel. Discover Paris, gain an appreciation of French culture and expand your global perspective.

The program and coursework is administered by Lynn-approved provider CEA. All students are enrolled in a three-credit French language intensive course (DJLC 200: French Language and Culture in Paris, France). There is no language prerequisite for this program; students will take a placement test and are expected to show growth and improvement from their initial placement. This course meets the J-term requirement for Language and Culture.
