Through this Career Preparation and Spanish language program, your perception will be challenged on how you see the social sector as a place of opportunity, both to ‘do good’ but also to innovate and build a financially sustainable social enterprise. While you are learning Spanish you will find out what challenges the community in Costa Rica is really facing and what social entrepreneurs are doing to help. Through the course work and visiting local companies, you will learn what it is to be a social entrepreneur. Your end project will to be develop a high level business plan for either launching a new social enterprise or initiating a new program within an existing organization.

The program and coursework is administered by Lynn-approved provider UPEACE. All students are enrolled in a two-credit Career Preparation course (DJCE 250) and a two-credit beginning Spanish language course (DJLC 200: Spanish Language and Culture). The Career Preparation course meets the J-term requirement for Career Preparation and the Spanish language course meets the J-term requirement for Language and Culture.
